Chandler (Ariz.) defensive end Kisima Jagne took an official visit last weekend to Arizona State but his leader appears to be from the Big 12 region right now.
Jagne is a three-star prospect and the No. 6 ranked player in the state this year. His visit to ASU was his first official visit of the year but the lineman said he was already very familiar with the Sun Devils program.
“I’ve been to ASU a ton of times already,” Jagne said. “I’ve been to almost every home game this year and have also taken visits to the campus and met with the academic advisers. Right when school started, me and some of my teammates went up to visit and I met with the head of the academics and toured the entire campus.
“This visit for me was more about just hanging out with the players and bonding with the team. I really like the guys on the team a lot and I’m very comfortable with them. I got to see a great game and ASU is really playing well right now. I met a lot of great people actually, not just football related and really enjoyed the visit.”
Despite the great visit, Jagne sounds like he could be leaving the area.
“To be honest, I kind of want to leave the state and experience something new for college,” Jagne said. “I’m looking at Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Purdue and Arkansas, in addition to ASU. That’s my top five right now. I kind of feel you if you go away, you can grow up a lot more, get your independence, and that’s what I’m looking to do.
“Oklahoma State is probably my top school right now. I love their football program, they’re winning and I’ve heard great things about how they treat the players. Everyone says it’s like a big family there and that’s how my high school team is and that’s what I’m looking for. I haven’t set up any other visits yet because we have playoffs coming up but once we’re done, I’ll go ahead and do that for December and January.”
