Linebacker Jayon Brown (Long Beach, Calif./Poly) was almost ready to pull the trigger on a commitment before his senior season began. The fact that he held off in hopes that more programs would watch his senior season and come forward with offers paid off in a big way on Wednesday, as Brown committed to the hometown UCLA Bruins.
Brown held offers from Colorado and Colorado State, but said before the season began that Bruins linebackers coach Jeff Ulbrich was pushing to bring him into the UCLA recruiting class. Brown was all too happy to turn that into a reality, as he jumped on the UCLA offer. The Bruins continue to do well with local talent in this class, as Brown is commitment No. 9 from Southern California. He is also the third outside linebacker added to the class.
