A strong start to the season has several programs interested in wide receiver Delvon Hardaway (Los Angeles/Dorsey). But a phenomenal performance this past week could have schools set to step forward for the senior, who says he's grown two inches to 6-foot-3 and now weighs 182 pounds. That's 17 pounds heavier than earlier this summer, when he was measured at a camp. He holds an offer from San Jose State.
On Friday, despite coming up on the short end of a 26-24 decision, Hardaway caught eight passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns. San Jose State coaches were in attendance, but that wasn't the only staff that caught wind of Hardaway's showing. The senior receiver said Nevada coaches reached out to him and Hardaway believes an offer from the Wolfpack could be close. UCLA coaches also contacted him and wanted a copy of the game film.
Hardaway was in attendance for UCLA's win over Houston on Saturday night and said he will take another unofficial visit next weekend -- either to San Jose State or again to UCLA, as the Bruins host Oregon State.
Hardaway said Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State and Oregon State are also showing interest.
