Two of Arizona State’s new assistant coaches played a big role in the addition of the Sun Devils’ newest commitment, wide receiver Ronald Lewis (Harvey, La./West Jefferson).
Lewis committed to Arizona State over offers from Colorado, Texas A&M and Tulane, and offensive coordinator Mike Norvell and running backs coach Larry Porter had plenty to do with it.
West Jefferson head coach coach Marcus Scott said Lewis has been on the radar of those two coaches since his freshman season due to Norvell's coaching stint at Tulsa and Porter's at LSU. Both coaches are familiar with the West Jefferson program and Lewis’ abilities as an athlete. The 6-foot, 185-pound Lewis will head to Arizona State as a wide receiver, but his responsibilities will likely expand.
