The Vanderbilt Commodores received a verbal commitment from 2014 quarterback Kyle Carta-Samuels (San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine Prep) on Monday.
Carta-Samuels was on an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt -- where his brother, Austyn Carta-Samuels, will compete for the starting quarterback job this fall -- when he made the decision. The younger sibling even cancelled a planned trip to Tennessee, tweeting that he is now finished with the recruiting process and looking forward to recruiting players to join him at Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-2, 207-pound quarterback is commitment No. 2 for Vanderbilt in the 2014 class and will join 2013 verbal commitment Chad Kanoff (North Hollywood, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) as California quarterbacks heading to Vanderbilt.
