There are three letters woven into a tattoo on the left shoulder of receiver Sammie Long (Lakewood, Wash./Lakes): “F.O.E.”
The initials stand for “Family Over Everything,” a motto made popular by lineman Zach Banner, who is now preparing for his freshman year at USC.
While weighing his college options, Long wanted to make sure he could recreate that family feeling after high school. He found what he was looking for during his conversations with Washington’s coaching staff, prompting the 6-foot-4, 190-pound receiver to become the first member of the Huskies’ 2013 recruiting class in March.
