UCLA is loading up on linebackers in the 2013 recruiting class and added another on one Wednesday, when Myles Jack (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) announced his verbal commitment to the Bruins.
"I just really liked the coaching staff and everything," Jack said. "Every school was great. Every school had something to offer. But, at the end of the day, UCLA just felt right for me with academics."
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Jack narrowed his choices to a final five of UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, California and Stanford before selecting the Bruins.
Jack's comfort level with the coaching staff and the campus played a big role in his decision. He and his mother had an opportunity to visit UCLA for its junior day this past spring and the good feelings he received on that trip sealed the deal for head coach Jim L. Mora and his staff.
"It didn’t really even wow me," he said. "It just felt like home."
The Bruins now have eight commitments in their 2013 class, with four residing outside of California.
