Washington lands Hawaii athlete

Athlete Psalm Wooching (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii./Kelakehe) was an early commitment to UCLA but opened his recruitment after the Bruins' coaching change.

Wooching took an official visit to Washington over the weekend and didn’t waste much time committing to the Huskies.

“I committed on Saturday,” Wooching said. “I knew right away that UW was the best fit for me. With UCLA, all the coaches that were there that I knew left and I really clicked well with the Husky coaches. I just got a better feel about Washington and I like how they plan to use me in their offense.

“I’ll play fullback and also some H-Back and I think that’s a good fit for me. Washington has a great offense, they’re explosive and I’m excited to be a part of that. I also have a ton of family that lives in Washington and that was another huge factor. I told myself ahead of time that if things felt right at UW, I would commit right there and that’s what I did.”

Colorado, Hawaii and UNLV had also offered Wooching.
