It has been a wild 48 hours for a lot of Cal commitments. On Monday, word came down that defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi was leaving for Washington. Just 24 hours later, Bears wide receiver coach Eric Kiesau is heading to UW as well to be the Huskies new offensive coordinator.
“Wow, that’s all I can say,” Bear receiver commit Cedric Dozier (Lakewood, Wash./Lakes) said. "I was fine with Tosh leaving but now Coach Kiesau is gone too, man that's my receiver coach right there. I got some serious praying to do. This is just crazy what’s going on. Cal is still Cal, it’s a great school even if you take out the football but i might have to take some visits now.
“I mean, who’s the new receiver coach going to be? Are they going to hire a guy before Signing Day? Right now, I have a lot of questions and need some answers fast because Signing Day is just a few weeks away. I loved Cal and I really liked Coach Kiesau a lot. I could trust him and when he told me I was coming in as a receiver, I believed him. Washington was recruiting me more for defense. If they come after me again, will it be as a receiver or as a defensive back? I don’t know but I’m just shaking my head right now.”
