Utah looking good for Marsh

Defensive back Alphonso Marsh (Compton, Calif./Dominguez) has been a rumored lean to Utah for some time, and his official visit this past weekend did nothing to hurt the Utes chances.

“I loved it at Utah; it was a lot better than I thought,” Marsh said. “To be honest, I don’t know what I expected, but it was a really cool place, and I’m definitely looking hard at Utah. I don’t want to name any leaders right now, but Utah is high on my list and sitting in a good place.

“I think the one thing that stood out most was the food; man we ate well. From a football standpoint, I like their defense a lot. They play a lot of corners in their defense and that’s where they see me as, a big corner. I think I could get early playing time there, and Utah has surprisingly sent a lot of defensive backs to the league (NFL), and that was one of the big things I learned over the weekend.”
