Athlete Davonte Neal (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) will take his second official visit this weekend to Ohio State. The athlete is planning to take all five of his visits and likely will wait to sign after signing day.
Neal took a December visit to Notre Dame and could take visits over the next four weekends before making his college choice.
“I’m visiting Ohio State this weekend,” Neal said. “This is like a homecoming for me. I’m from Ohio and grew up a Buckeye fan. I was a ball boy for a couple of games when I was a little, so I’m really excited to get to Columbus and check out the school. I also have Arkansas set for (Jan. 20) and then I’m still sorting out my last two visits.
“Right now, it’s looking like it will be Miami and North Carolina, but I still need to sort that out. Miami could be (Jan. 27) and then UNC could be on (Feb. 3). If I take both of those visits, I obviously won’t be signing on signing day, but that’s all right. It’s more important to me to take all my trips and make sure I’m doing the right thing.”
Neal said in addition to the schools he’s visiting, he’s also looking at Arizona, Arizona State and USC.
“I’ve already been to those schools multiple times, so I don’t need to do an official visit,” Neal said. “I don’t have a leader right now; everyone is even until I take all my trips. Once I’m done, I’ll take some time comparing everyone to each other, and then I’ll be able to make a sound decision on where the best place for me is.”
