Armstead still looking at three

There has been a lot of speculation as to exactly who will be announcing their college choice at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday. Arik Armstead (Elk Grove, Calif./Pleasant Grove) was one player rumored to announce, but that won’t happen this weekend.

There has been a lot of buzz during the Army practices that Armstead, along with several other players, could all announce to Cal together. Shaq Thompson (Sacramento, Calif./Grant) and Jordan Payton (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian) announced on Friday via tweeter and rumor had Armstead doing the same Saturday.

“No, he’s not ready yet,” said Gus Armstead, Arik’s father. “I know there has been a lot crazy talk going on this past week, but I think it’s mostly been in fun. Some of these kids are really enjoying playing with the media and getting some attention but right now, Arik still has one more visit to take and hasn’t decided where he’s going yet.
