Nebraska lands pair from out West 

Nebraska was the big winner of the Semper Fi Bowl, landing commitments from four star linebacker Jarad Afalava (South Jordan, Utah/Bingham) and defensive end Avery Moss (Tempe, Ariz./Corona Del Sol).

Afalava was among the most heavily recruited ‘backers in the region and chose the Huskers over offers from BYU, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah and Washington. He took visits to his two finalists, Nebraska and Washington, but the Huskers have been in a solid spot for him since mid-December and when the Huskies fired their entire defensive staff, there was little doubt where Afalava was headed.

Moss had his fair share of offers as well, turning down Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, San Diego State, Stanford, Washington and Washington State. He took official visits to ASU, Nebraska and Purdue, but the Huskers had been the rumored leader for some time. Ironically, this one appeared to be a in-state battle between Arizona and Arizona State, but Moss dropped both programs due to the coaching changes at each school.

Moss, who is not only teammates but cousins with highly touted offensive lineman Andrus Peat, said the two talk often about playing together in college so the Huskers might not be finished in the Grand Canyon State.
