Dalis Bruce (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) has had a very strong senior year and could be closing in on several new scholarship offers.
Bruce starts at both receiver and cornerback for the Braves and is putting up solid numbers on both sides of the ball. He has 17 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns at receiver to go with 28 tackles, 10 pass deflections and one interception on the defensive side of the ball.
“I’ll play on either side in college; I don’t have a preference,” Bruce said. “I would say half the schools are recruiting me for receiver and the others for [corner]. Where I’m being recruited won’t impact what school I pick. I’m just looking for the best situation for me athletically and academically right now.”
Bruce has offers on the table from Colorado, Oregon State and Utah State and is hoping a trio of Pac-12 schools could be offering soon as well.
“Cal, UCLA and Oregon all seem really close,” Bruce said. “My stepmom went to UCLA, and my dad went to Cal, so I have family ties to both schools. Oregon is a great a school as well, and all three have been recruiting me hard since the summer.
“Oregon and Cal both like me for corner and UCLA likes me at receiver. I haven’t set up any trip dates yet, but I would like to visit all three of those schools, along with Notre Dame and Arizona State. I’m going to try and take some visits with Bryce Treggs, and it would be great to play with him in college.”
