Luke Kaumatule (Honolulu, Hawaii./Punahou) is still committed to Stanford but has four other schools on his list that he’ll try and visit in January.
Kaumatule committed earlier in the year to the Cardinal but has yet to turn in his application in order to be approved by Stanford’s admissions.
“I’m almost there, I’m still working on it,” Kaumatule said. “I had my surgery and that held me back a little but I’ll get it done and everything will be good. I’m very confident I’ll get cleared. In the meantime, I’m in contract with UCLA, Cal, Washington and Colorado and I’m going to try and visit all those schools if I can.
“I have UCLA set up for (Jan. 13) and I’ve been talking with Coach Inoke [Breckterfield] a lot. He’s a good coach and I’m glad that they’re keeping him. I think Cal might be the week after (Jan. 20) but I need to check on that. I’m playing in the U.S Army All-American Bowl so I won’t be able to visit anywhere that first weekend of January. I know I can visit Jan. 27 but I might have to drop a school because I have Washington and Colorado on my list.”
