Without even taking a visit, Culver City (Calif.) receiver Alex Jackson decided Washington State was the place for him and committed Wednesday.
Jackson, a four-star recruit, is one the most underrated receivers in the region and had a very nice senior season. He caught 55 passes for 1,083 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season and has the talent to play as a true freshman next season.
“I’m going to take my visit in January but I knew I didn’t need to see the place to commit,” Jackson said. “The whole coaching change really got my attention and if you’re a receiver, who wouldn’t play for Coach Leach? He’s known for having an explosive offense and I’m hoping to have an impact right away.
“I took visits to Iowa State and San Diego State and liked both schools a lot but I like the idea of playing in the Pac-12. Washington State is building something, they have some young talent and I think we’re going to surprise some people.”
