Loganville (Ga.) Grayson senior Robert Nkemdiche is the No. 1 prospect in the ESPN 150 and considered one of the most talented defensive linemen to play in Georgia. As a highly sought-after recruit with offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Oregon, Nkemdiche has agreed to chronicle his senior season and recruiting experience through a weekly diary with RecruitingNation.
What’s up everybody, this is Robert Nkemdiche. First off, I just want to thank all of the Grayson fans for coming out and supporting us on Thursday. We did a great job against Archer and we are really coming together as a team. We are not just a bunch of individuals and I am really proud of how we played. Our offense is on fire and our defense has held them scoreless for four games, so we are hoping to keep that going against Brookwood this Friday.
My mom leaves next Tuesday and I am going to miss her dearly. This will be the last high school game she gets to see me play. Coaches from Ole Miss and Georgia are coming too, so hopefully I can ball out for all of them.
The trip to Georgia last weekend was great. I got to see my brother Denzel ball out, do his thing and hit people. Georgia really has a great squad on both sides of the ball. I got to hang out with some of my friends and it was a great visit overall! I talked to Coach (Mark) Richt, Coach (Bryan) McClendon, Jarvis Jones and Todd Gurley, and they are all great guys. They told me to go where my heart is. That was a great thing to hear. Georgia is a great school and I have an open mind about them.
After the game, it did not surprise me one bit to see Mark Richt talk to my brother. Coach Richt is such an amazing dude and I really respect him and the things he does a lot. I was really proud of both of them for that.
On Saturday we are going on a visit to Ole Miss and I am looking forward to seeing my brother play another good game. Denzel and I are so close, so I will enjoy seeing him again. I am not going there to just focus on recruiting. Honestly, I am not planning on making any changes in my recruitment this weekend.
Recruiting is getting crazy and it has been hectic with people trying to come at me from all directions. I know my mom has said she feels I will end up at Ole Miss, but that is just her opinion and everyone is entitled to that. I have to just keep my head up and focused right now on what I want to accomplish at Grayson. My recruitment might go until signing day. I am not sure. If I am feeling a school, then that is where I am going to be.
Thank you for taking the time to read my diary. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to do this series and give people a small look into what my senior year experience is like. Look forward to seeing what happens next! Have a great week everybody!
