SAN ANTONIO -- ESPN 150 outside linebacker Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian) isn’t big on speaking publicly. He’d rather let his game do the talking -- and it speaks volumes.

On Monday, the 6-foot-5, 222-pound linebacker officially confirmed that he will announce his college plans during Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Oregon, Texas A&M and Ohio State are his three finalists.

Mitchell said all three schools -- and even a fourth, Oklahoma -- had their positive qualities throughout his recruiting process. It was a feeling of comfort, however, that seemed to win him over.

Sensing an opportunity to land one of the top tailbacks in the nation, coaches from some of the most tradition-laden schools were scheduled to visit Derrick Green on Tuesday.

Miami running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Terry Richardson was in to see Green, the four-star tailback from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage. The Canes are in the running after being a non-factor for most of his recruitment. Green shifted his list of finalists earlier this month when he dropped Virginia Tech and added Miami.

Miami's ability to jump in is largely due to the many changes among Green's finalists. The ESPN 150 prospect has seen coaching changes at two of the schools he was strongly considering: Auburn and Tennessee.

With the many recruiting rumors floating around the Oregon football program this week, the list of potential official visitors once included as many eight members of the ESPN 300, including seven from the ESPN 150. As the weekend approaches it has become more clear that the list will be considerably smaller and won't include the majority of the rumored recruits.

Add elite WR Marquez North of Mallard Creek (NC) High School to the list of rumored visitors that will not be on campus. ESPN.com's DawgNation reporter Kipp Adams confirmed with the father of the No. 133 player in the ESPN 150, Ramondo North. According to him, they never heard from the Ducks.

ESPN 150 member RB Derrick Green; Richmond (VA) Hermitage and LB Danny Mattingly; Spokane (Wash.) Mead, a Notre Dame commit, both had to postpone their scheduled visits to Eugene due to conflicts with their playoff schedules. RB Alvin Kamara of Norcross (GA) High School, the No. 32 prospect in the ESPN 150, was also looking to make it out to Eugene after recently confirming that he now has Oregon in his top three along with long-time favorites Georgia and Alabama.

Ducks' RB commit Thomas Tyner of Aloha (Ore.) High School and fellow in-state commit Doug Brenner of Portland (Ore.) Jesuit will both both use the Ducks' last regular-season home game of the season for their official visits.

That's a change, as Green had long said the Hokies were among his finalists, which now are Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon and Auburn, where he is taking an official visit this weekend.

When asked what he wanted to see at Auburn, Green said, "Just during the game, to look at the coaching staff and the way they're coaching. See up close the way they run the ball. This is my first game day at Auburn. I'm definitely looking at that."

Recruiting is moving quickly for four-star running back Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) -- almost as quickly as the ESPN 150 prospect picks up yardage.

The nation's No. 53 prospect said during ESPN's RecruitingNation podcast that he plans to announce his final decision in October. He's still considering Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee. Green said he'll again cut down his list before he announces his commitment.

Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee seem to be in the best position. The prospect has said he'll take official visits to all three schools and has planned an Oct. 20 visit to Ann Arbor for the Michigan State game. He has yet to set dates for Auburn and Tennessee. His last two official visits will be to two of his last three other finalists: Georgia, Ole Miss or Oregon.
