#AskLoogs: Where Kerryon Johnson fits

By Tom Luginbill

@TomLuginbill Will Kerryon Johnson (Madison Academy) play DB/RB at next level? Also, who would you compare his style of play to? #AskLoogs

Actually, we feel Kerryon Johnson (Madison, Ala./Madison Academy) would fit better at wide receiver if he remained on offense better than he would as a running back. However, personally, I would recruit him on defense as a safety. With his range, speed, explosiveness and capacity to develop physically and add strength to his frame, he would just bring too much to a defense to place him anywhere else.

The ESPN Junior 300 prospect is the type of player that can match up. What we mean is that he would not be a guy that needs to come off the field in nickel situations and can play over the slot in coverage because of his feet, hips and speed to play against slots, H-backs and running backs in space. His style of play is reminiscent of Alabama’s Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
