UA Game jersey tour: Cameron Robinson

By Gerry Hamilton

Five-star offensive tackle Cameron Robinson (West Monroe, La./West Monroe) was presented his honorary game jersey at his high school in West Monroe, La. on Thursday during the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game. The event was part of the three-month tour.

Robinson, an Alabama commitment, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh-annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance, a nationally televised competition spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors. The 2014 Under Armour All-America Game is set for 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be televised on ESPN.

"Me being selected to play in this game is a huge honor," Robinson said. "A lot of select talent around the country, some of the best high school football players in the country are playing. I'm happy that people consider me good enough to play in this game. It's an honor and blessing to play in this game."

West Monroe coach Don Shows beamed about Robinson's selection.

"On behalf of West Monroe High School," he said, "what a tremendous honor this is for you, for our football program and for our high school."

For Robinson, the decision to play in the Under Armour All-America Game was a no-brainer.

"Why I decided to come to the Under Armour Game is a lot of tradition," he said. "A lot of great players played at the Under Armour Game. You have the Jadeveon Clowneys, Robert Nkemdiches and a lot of college stars and in the NFL right now ... just a lot of tradition and great honor. It feels great to represent my city, my school and my state of Louisiana."

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Robinson is the No. 3-ranked prospect overall, and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class. He committed to Alabama over LSU and others.
