Hearns, Williams will not sign
By Corey Dowlar
ESPN 300 members James Hearns and Taj Williams, both of Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln High School, will not sign Wednesday, national signing day.
Hearns, an inside linebacker ranked as the No. 279 overall prospect in the country, was previously committed to Florida but split ways with the Gators not long ago. Williams, meanwhile, is the country's No. 224 overall player and a four-star wide receiver. He has remained undeclared throughout the process. Both have work to do in the classroom.
"Neither one is signing," Lincoln coach Yusuf Shakir said.
Kentucky was considered the favorite for Hearns, while Auburn was the front-runner for Williams.
It is not clear whether they will sign with a program after national signing day.
