RB Elder will take his time to sign

By Dave Hooker

Cornelius Elder's recruitment is far from over.

The running back prospect from Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth stated via text message that he will not announce his college selection on national signing day. Elder took official visits to Auburn and Georgia Tech last week. He has also taken official visits to Auburn and Ohio State.

It's unclear where Elder might be leaning. He has been hesitant to choose leaders as his recruitment continues to evolve. He once said Ohio State and UCLA were the leaders, but that was before other schools, such as Auburn, came calling.

Basketball also clouds the issue. Elder has said he'd like to play basketball in college. He recently received a basketball scholarship offer from Purdue.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect is rated the No. 203 prospect in the nation, the No. 17 running back in the country and the No. 2 prospect in Tennessee.
