Tennessee visit has DE Brown thinking
By Dave Hooker
After an official visit to Tennessee, Malik Brown's recruitment is becoming a challenge, especially for him.
"Very confused," Brown said. "I'm very confused right now and I don't know where I'm going to go. I have to pray on a lot of things and see what God thinks and go from there."
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end from West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer committed to Syracuse in December. He was close to several coaches on the previous Orange staff, but after some changes at the school they're no longer with the program.
That allowed Tennessee to jump in the mix. The Volunteers offered Brown a scholarship last week and persuaded him to take an official visit to Knoxville last weekend.
"It went great," said Brown, who added he was particularly impressed with Tennessee's facilities and fan base.
While the Vols have made a push, they certainly haven't convinced Brown to back off his Syracuse commitment. Brown said he will announce his college decision on national signing day at noon. He is considering Tennessee, Syracuse and South Florida.
"My leader is Syracuse," Brown said. "That's where I'm committed to."
