The freshman stated via text message that he received a scholarship offer from Tennessee this weekend. Smith, whose nickname is "Shaq", already has scholarship offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Penn State and Rutgers.
Smith has also received interest from Alabama, Wisconsin and UCLA. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker from Towson (Md.) Calvert Hall will be a member of the 2016 class.
