South Carolina adds three-star LB

By Greg Ostendorf

Three-star linebacker Jonathan Walton made his commitment during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

He had a number of SEC offers, including Auburn and Tennessee, and took all five of his official visits before deciding on South Carolina.

Walton, who announced his decision on Twitter, is looking forward to playing with fellow Gamecocks linebacker commitment Mohamed Camara.

“Looks like I’ll be joining @MoCamara3 at our new home!!! #gamecocknation,” tweeted Walton.

The 6-foot-1, 236-pound linebacker initially committed to Penn State in December but opened things back up when defensive coordinator Ted Roof left for Georgia Tech.

South Carolina now has 21 commitments for 2013. The Gamecocks' class is ranked No. 13 according to ESPN.com.
