ESPN 300 TB considers another visit
By Dave Hooker
With six days to go before national signing day, one ESPN 300 prospect is considering squeezing in one more official visit.
Four-star tailback Jordan Wilkins (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict) said Wednesday night that he might take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend.
Tennessee didn't have much contact with Wilkins under its former coaching staff led by Derek Dooley, and Wilkins was a long-time Auburn commitment before the Tigers' coaching change after the 2012 season.
He immediately began looking at other schools. However, he didn't publicly decommit from the Tigers until Jan. 20. He has since said his finalists are Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt has a strong tie for the prospect. Wilkins' brother, Trey Wilkins, is a sophomore receiver for the Commodores.
Wilkins, rated the No. 3 running back in Tennessee, would certainly be a welcome addition to the Volunteers' 2013 class. UT is in desperate need of help at tailback after missing out on four-star prospect Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage), who chose Michigan over Tennessee and Auburn.
