The four-star receiver from Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek announced his commitment to Tennessee over North Carolina on his Twitter account. His father, Ramondo North, confirmed the decision to ESPN's Kipp Adams on Wednesday evening.
"Yes he committed to Tennessee," the elder North said in a Facebook message.
Marquez North had shown strong interest in Tennessee throughout the recruiting process. Despite a 5-7 record, the Vols had one of the most explosive passing offenses in the nation. North will have a chance to contribute immediately. The Vols lost their top four receivers from last season.
However, Tennessee also is looking for a new quarterback. Tyler Bray decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.
