Former Arkansas pledge finds new spot
By Gary Laney
When Bill Bielema got the Arkansas job, it wasn't good news for long-time Arkansas commit Kaleb Blanchard.
Blanchard (Denham Springs, La.), a three-star running back, had his scholarship offer pulled by the Razorbacks and had to start over. His high school coach, Dru Nettles, said Wednesday that he has a new destination.
"He's going to sign with South Alabama next Wednesday," Nettles said. "He's had a lot of schools look at him, but he hasn't made any official visits with them. He went down there to South Alabama and liked it."
Since he was dropped by Arkansas, Blanchard also was in touch with Arizona State, UAB, Memphis and Southern Miss, but opted to go with the Jaguars.
