Miami tight end commit flips to FSU

Jeremy Kerr (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg) has made the switch.
Jeremy Kerr could bulk up and eventually move to the offensive line at Florida State.
A Miami commitment since June, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end will stay in the ACC, but not with the Hurricanes.
After a long flirtation process that included an official visit on Jan. 11, the three-star prospect has flipped to Florida State according to his head coach Joe Fabrizio.
A blocking tight end in high school, there is a chance Kerr could move to offensive line in college.
"That's a possibility," Fabrizio said. "In speaking with FSU, I know they are looking for a big blocking tight end kind of player to take on all these 290-pound defensive ends. I think initially that is what he is going to be. Whether he grows himself into a tackle or something else, that is going to be down the line."
Kerr still has a lot to learn, but he projects well. That ceiling is what has intrigued Florida State.
It's not just limited to terms of ability, either. Kerr could grow into a massive player.
"He has an extremely high work ethic," Fabrizio said. "He is still young as a player, doesn't have a ton of experience, but has a huge upside. I'm not sure what the limit is going to be. It's going to be whatever he puts the time in for. He's going to be a huge kid and he hasn't even stopped growing yet."
Kerr becomes the Seminoles 19th commitment towards the Class of 2013.
