Houston QB commit pondering SEC offer
By Corey Long
Three-star quarterback John O'Korn (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) has been committed to Houston for several months, but it hasn't stopped the offers from coming in. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior has stayed solid to Houston but might take an official visit to an SEC program soon.
O'Korn was offered by Mississippi State earlier Tuesday and says he's considering taking an official visit to the school this week. The quarterback says Syracuse and Wisconsin also have inquired about a visit.
"I'm still committed to Houston," O'Korn said. "But I want to make sure I'm making the best decision, and I only get one chance to make the right choice in this process.
"I'm considering taking a visit to Mississippi State this weekend."
The timing of the move is interesting, with the recent visit of ESPN 300 quarterback Cord Sandberg (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee), who has been committed to the Bulldogs since the summer. Sandberg, however, is also a top baseball prospect and likely will be drafted in the first 15 rounds of the baseball draft this summer.
