Sure, Ole Miss fans were still basking in the glow from Laquon Treadwell's (Crete, Ill./Monee) commitment when Robinson, a linebacker from Memphis (Tenn.) East, committed to the Rebels. However, Robinson shouldn't be overlooked.
The one-time Arkansas commitment had an impressive list of scholarship offers, including Clemson, Illinois, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Purdue and Vanderbilt. Robinson confirmed via text message he committed to Ole Miss late Thursday.
When asked what he liked about Ole Miss, Robinson stated, "Everything, from the coaches to the school and their fan base."
Robinson's commitment to Ole Miss wasn't much of a surprise. He expressed strong interest recently in the Rebels.
Robinson's inclusion in the Rebels' 2013 class should also continue to grow their pipeline into Memphis. Including Robinson, Ole Miss has three commitments from the Memphis area. That number is sure to grow in future classes considering Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze is a former high school coach there.
Recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach Maurice Harris will be instrumental in Memphis as well. He was Robinson's primary recruiter.
"He is super cool," Robinson stated. "I feel like he will push me to be great."
