ESPN 300 athlete Dixon lines up visits
By Gary Laney
ESPN 300 athlete Tre'vell Dixon (Baldwin, La./West St. Mary) looks like he might have a choice to make between big-time programs far from home and smaller schools closer to home.
Dixon said today that he has visits to Louisiana-Lafayette this weekend and Southern Mississippi on Jan. 25 before he heads to Arizona State on Feb. 1.
He visited Nebraska and Houston before the end of the 2012.
"Recruiting is going pretty right now," he said. "I'm just looking for a place where I can get a good education and that has a good program and where I would have a chance to play as a freshman."
Dixon's recruitment has remained strong despite his not having much game tape to offer. He played in just four games in his senior season because of a broken ankle, he said. He said today the ankle is 100 percent after surgery.
With the Arizona State trip on the weekend before signing day, he said he's not planning to make a decision until shortly before, or on, signing day, Feb. 6.
