2015 DB Kevin Toliver still weighing choice
By Derek Tyson
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Class of 2015 defensive back Kevin Toliver (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian) is sure to be one of the most highly rated cornerback prospects in the country by the time he is a senior.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete committed to LSU in November, but he now says his recruitment might not be over.
"I'm still open, but for now I just committed to let me people know I'm serious about this," Toliver said at the Jacksonville Pro Impact 7-on-7 tryouts on Saturday. "If I feel like staying home in Florida, then the Gators would be my first choice, but if I want to go home where my family is at then I'd go to LSU."
Toliver, whose cousin is former LSU wide receiver Terrence Toliver, said besides family ties to LSU, he likes how many defensive backs they put in the NFL.
"I love LSU," he said. "They put a lot of DBs in the NFL. They know what they are talking about when it comes to defensive backs."
As for his recruitment, Toliver said there are several schools that continue to stay in contact.
"I still talk with Florida, Florida State, Michigan State and Michigan," Toliver said. "That's about it right now."
Toliver said LSU will be the only junior day he expects to attend.
