Three-star OT Jones-Smith announces
By Jared Shanker
Philadelphia West Catholic’s Jaryd Jones-Smith was down to Pittsburgh and Virginia, so he is bound to play football in the ACC.
After making his decision to commit Tuesday, that will come at Pitt.
The three-star prospect and No. 90 offensive tackle nationally made his decision public on Tuesday after school with the Philadelphia media.
The 6-foot-6, 313-pound Jones-Smith is part of a rebuilding project along the offensive line for Pitt coach Paul Chryst. Jones-Smith is the fifth offensive lineman in the Panthers’ 2013 class, joining headliner Dorian Johnson, the No. 2 offensive tackle nationally.
Jones-Smith became a hot commodity late in the recruiting process, garnering offers from Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin over the last few months.
