Davis gets time with new Cincy staff
By Corey Long
Three-star running back Robert Davis (Tampa, Fla./Carrollwood Day) decommitted from Cincinnati a month ago, but that didn’t stop the 5-foot-8, 175-pound senior from taking an official visit to the school over the weekend.
The trip to Cincinnati helped the Bearcats get right back in the mix for Davis.
“I loved the trip and I would say Cincinnati is in my top three,” Davis said. “They are there with South Florida and Memphis.
“Meeting the new coaching staff was the most important thing for me and I found out that they have a great vision for Cincinnati football.”
Davis quickly connected with Cincinnati assistant Eddie Gran, who will coach the running backs at the program.
“Coach Gran was great,” Davis said. “He really understands the running back position and it would be good to play under someone like that.”
Davis is expected to take his official visit to Memphis next week, and he could make a decision any time after that. A visit to Boston College on Jan. 25 is no longer in the works.
