LB Moore in mix with SEC schools

By Corey Long

Three-star linebacker Skai Moore (Davie, Fla./University School) made his decommitment from Rutgers official Tuesday and it’s hard to say what the next move will be for the 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior.

Moore chose the Scarlet Knights over Vanderbilt and Wake Forest but now it appears like the Commodores could be back in the picture along with some other SEC programs.

Although Moore hasn’t officially discounted Rutgers, he did say that his family convinced him to re-open his recruitment.

“My family felt like I wasn’t really going through the process like I should have,” Moore said. “I’m going to take some more visits before I make my final decision most likely on signing day.”

Moore’s new potential suitors include South Carolina and Vanderbilt. He has already taken officials to Wisconsin and Vanderbilt.

Head coach Roger Harriott said it’s likely Moore’s planned Jan. 18 official to Rutgers won’t happen.

“To be honest, I think he’s looking at SEC programs right now,” Harriott said. “I know Arkansas is recruiting him pretty hard right now and he was going to take an official to South Carolina this weekend but I think he’s going to push that back and use this weekend to decide on his final three visits."
