QB Cogswell sets up official visit
By Corey Long
It’s been a frustrating couple of months for three-star quarterback Tyler Cogswell (Plantation, Fla./American Heritage).
First his team, ranked near the top in the state, suffered a surprising first-round loss to Miami Jackson in the Class 5A state playoffs. Then he found out his commitment to Arkansas would not be honored by new head coach Bret Bieliema.
However, things are slowly getting back on track for the 6-foot-5, 220-pound senior and he is looking forward to a Jan. 25 official visit to Western Kentucky. Cogswell, who was originally recruited to Arkansas by assistant coach Paul Petrino, has built a good relationship in recent weeks with older brother Bobby Petrino.
“Coach Paul and I kind of faded to be honest but I think I’m building a stronger relationship with Coach Bobby,” Cogswell said. “So I’m looking forward to this trip.
“I don’t have an offer yet, but I like Coach Bobby’s offensive schemes and the way he develops quarterbacks so I’m hoping for the best.”
Cogswell said he is hearing from some other programs but he wasn’t ready to announce any future visits or plans.
