Southeast tie should help UCLA with Elder

By Dave Hooker

This is UCLA's best chance to wow Cornelius "Corn" Elder.

The ESPN 300 tailback from Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth will visit Los Angeles to see the Bruins play Southern California on Saturday. The official visit might be the last Elder will be able to take out West.

"I just wanna see the campus, meet the coaching staff and see the atmosphere," the ESPN 300 running back stated via text message.

In charge of Elder's recruitment is UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, Elder's primary recruiter. Mazzone knows the Southeast well. He has coached at Ole Miss, Auburn and North Carolina State.

Elder has yet to name a list of finalists or eliminate any schools. He has shown strong interest in Vanderbilt, Ohio State and Georgia Tech, taking visits to all three schools.
