Tampa (Fla.) Plant defensive end/outside linebacker Mitchell Wright committed to South Florida on Tuesday at a news conference held at Plant High School.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior chose the Bulls over offers from Boston College, Florida Atlantic and UMass. The three-star prospect is the 11th commitment for the Bulls in the class of 2013.
Wright was offered by South Florida after his participation in the program's Super Bull showcase. Despite a year of playing in front of head coach Skip Holtz (Holtz's son Trey Holtz was Wright's teammate in 2011), Wright said the school hadn't shown much interest until recently.
