Orlando Freedom athlete Jeff Badet was planning on making an Independence Day decision but has decided to hold off for the time being and will schedule some official visits first.
The 6-foot, 165-pound senior has offers from Minnesota, Bowling Green, Boston College, Florida International, Memphis, Marshall and Western Kentucky in hand, but one Big East program has emerged in the lead.
"Right now I really feeling good about Louisville," Badet said. "I hung out with Terrence Ross a lot this past weekend and he's committed there and we've talked about taking our official there together."
Ross (Apopka, Fla./Wekiva) and Badet were teammates for Central Florida Top Recruits over the weekend at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 nationals.
Badet participated in South Florida's Super Bull showcase in June and although the Bulls haven't extended an offer, it's possible they could be Louisville's biggest challenge.
"I really enjoyed my time at South Florida and working with their coaching staff," Badet said. "There's a lot of good things happening at South Florida. I like the campus and they are pushing the academics hard, which is a big deal for me."
Badet was originally going to make a decision July 4 but decided in June to push things back.
"I wasn't ready to commit anywhere," Badet said. "I'm going to ride this out a little longer and check out some schools on official visits. And there are more programs that want to evaluate me this fall, so it's better to wait."
