ESPN 150 running back Ryan Green (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Pete Catholic) did not have much time in between sports this spring.
Green finished up his track season this past weekend and by Tuesday he was back on the gridiron preparing for his final spring with the Barons.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound junior received his latest offer Thursday when Oregon stopped by the school before practice. Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are supposed to be on campus Friday.
The biggest news of the week for Green was when he accepted an invitation to play in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game.
"It's a thrill and a blessing to be part of the Under Armour Game because it's the one I wanted to play in," Green said. "It's a chance to finish my high school football playing days in my hometown in front of my friends and my family."
Green, the fourth-rated running back in the nation, will be participating in the game as a slot receiver and return specialist. He is looking forward to showing his versatility in January's game.
"I'm definitely committing more time to becoming an all-purpose, balanced running back," Green said. "I believe that you never stop learning new ways to be successful.
"As a running back it's important to be fully involved in the offense whether you're running, catching the ball out of the backfield or staying in on pass protection as a blocker."
The Under Armour Game is just the start of what will be a very exciting start of 2013 for Green as he has decided to put off his decision until national signing day.
"I'm going make the decision right here at my school auditorium on national signing day," Green said. "I've thought about a lot of timetables and exactly what it would take for me to a make an early decision but I would never want to make a decision early and back out of it later.
"So I'm going to take as much time as I need to make the correct choice."
Green did say he's going to make an attempt to trim his list of schools by the end of the spring and then start taking some unofficial visits.
"I'm going to Florida State to participate in Jimbo Fisher's football camp," Green said. "I'm pretty sure that's the only camp I'm going to do. I probably talk to Florida State on the phone more than any other school."
"I'm going to take a unofficial visit to Ole Miss and I'm going to get back to Notre Dame over the summer as well. I know my Dad said we might take an unofficial visit to Oregon after I'm done with The Opening."
While Green hasn't finalized his official visits in the fall yet, his father spoke of USC being a possibility as well as attending the Michigan-Notre Dame game.
