After rushing for nearly 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns for East River (Orlando, Fla.) in 2011, freshman Jacques Patrick shouldn't be surprised to have early interest.
Both Florida and FSU and extended verbal offers to the 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete who has since transferred to Timber Creek (Orlando, Fla.).
"It was a little shocking but it's exciting to have the big in-state programs showing interest this early," Patrick said. "I like both schools and a bunch of other programs so there's no rush for a decision or anything like that."
Patrick has visited both Florida and FSU this spring.
"I liked both programs and the coaches to be honest," Patrick said. "The facilities were real nice. They were a little different but real nice."
Patrick said he grew up supporting all of the Florida programs.
"I am just working on getting better for my sophomore season and fitting in at my new program," Patrick added. "Not really thinking about recruiting too much."
