Florida High (Tallahassee, Fla.) defensive back Austin Logan took unofficial visits to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech last weekend during his spring break.
The 6-foot, 180-pound junior received an offer from the Commodores earlier this year.
"Vandy already has one safety committed and they are looking to take one or two more," Logan said. "I liked what they have to offer on the field and academically.
"I really like the coaching staff there. They are all good guys and the players really respond to them."
Logan doesn't have an offer from Georgia Tech yet but coaches in the program have expressed strong interest.
"I think it's close, Coach [Charles] Kelly is going to come see me in the spring," Logan said. "He's the recruiter for my area and the DB coach.
"Georgia Tech is only taking one DB in this class right now but they said they will see what the numbers look like after the spring semester."
Logan also got to catch up with an old friend, while visiting Atlanta.
"Dennis Andrews is an early enrollee QB that I've known for a while," Logan said. "He went to Godby and I hung out with him after their scrimmage."
Logan's offers include Florida International, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, Purdue, South Florida, Troy and Georgia State.
