Cal travelled a long way to land their third commit for their 2013 recruiting class, as Norcross, Ga., star cornerback Shon Akins just pulled the trigger for the Bears.
“I just did [commit] a few minutes ago,” Akins said. “They are very excited. I went ahead and made my decision. I know I have not been out there. I was supposed to go on spring break but now I will over summer break.”
Cal was the first team to offer the 5-foot-9, 175 pound corner. In the end it came down to three teams.
