A video game could land Southern California a top prospect.
Greg Gilmore has long been a fan of the Trojans which is a bit curious. Why would a prospect three time zones away be rooting for a team he's only seen on television?
“Well when I was a kid I loved to use them on NCAA Football so I followed them ever since,” the defensive tackle from Hope Mills (N.C.) South View told ESPN via text message.
Conversely, USC saw highlight video on Gilmore and offered him a scholarship on Friday. With 21 scholarship offers, there will be plenty of competition to land the Watch List 150 prospect but at least Southern Cal has an unusual inside track.
