Marqui Hawkins (Columbus, Ga./Carver), a 6-foot-2 and 205-pound receiver, can do it all at his position.
“I know I have offers from Clemson, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Florida. I think Georgia offered but I am not sure. Teams like Alabama and Auburn are recruiting me hard and I want to check them out,” he said.
At this point Hawkins has not made any unofficial visits. He’s hoping that changes soon.
“This will all be fresh for me because I haven’t seen anyone,” Hawkins said. “I would like to get to Florida, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and FSU.
“Right now I am wide open. The style of offense, depth chart, academics and how they treat incoming players will all factor in my decision.”
Last season as a junior Hawkins caught 31 passes for 635 yards and scored five touchdowns.
“I still have a lot to work on and improvement in many areas,” Hawkins said. “I can be a better downfield blocker and attack the ball better when it’s in the air. This position you have to do all the little things correctly and that’s what I am working on.”
