High three-star wide receiver Scott Austin (Biloxi, Miss./Biloxi) flipped his commitment Thursday from Mississippi State of the SEC to Sun Belt member Louisiana-Lafayette, multiple sources report.
According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, the Bulldogs wanted Austin to grayshirt. In addition to Louisiana-Lafayette, he recently visited South Alabama. Ole Miss and Southern Miss offered earlier in the process.
ESPN writes in his evaluation: "Austin is another in a long line of long striding big men in this class out wide. He is tall with long levers and a wide wing span. He grows on you the more you watch him as he has some savvy to him, is deceptively athletic and is an ideal short and deep guy."
Austin is Louisiana-Lafayette's top-rated pledge for 2013.
