Few juniors earn invites to The Opening each summer, but Cedar Falls (Iowa) tackle Ross Pierschbacher was one of just three 2014 prospects to attend the event.
So naturally a team going for its third national title in four seasons would be interested.
The 6-foot-4, 269-pound Pierschbacher visited Alabama this weekend for the Iron Bowl.
"It was pretty good," Pierschbacher said. "Not much of a game, though."
Pierschbacher holds offers from seven programs with Notre Dame and Wisconsin among them. Several more are interested.
Although they did not say much, Pierschbacher spoke with offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and assistant coach Bobby Williams.
Pierschbacher said the best part of his visit was the game, but he was most surprised by the passion of the Alabama fans.
"Just how crazy they are about football," he said.
