After taking his first official visit, defensive end Danny Ezechukwu (Lithonia, Ga./Arabia Mountain) knew he had found a place he could call home. But the 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior wanted to make sure though, so he took his second official visit, to Iowa State, last weekend.
“I went up to Iowa State and had a really good time, and both coaching staffs are great,” Ezechukwu said. “I just felt like at Purdue it was like a family, and I felt the people there would be there for me for the next four years.”
Tuesday night, Ezechukwu was able to talk to Purdue head coach Danny Hope to inform him of his decision.
“He told me how excited he was to have me committed to the school,” Ezechukwu said. “He gave me a little bit more of an overview of the school too.”
Through five games, Ezechukwu has 27 tackles, five sacks, and a fumble forced on defense, and four catches for 46 yards and a touchdown on offense. He is commitment No. 13 for the Boilermakers in the 2013 class, and the third out of Georgia, along with defensive end/outside linebacker Johnny Thompson (Winder, Ga./Apalachee) and running back Keyante Green (McDonough, Ga./Eagles Landing Christian Academy).
