Three-star wide receiver Eric Carter (Lakeland, Fla./Lake Gibson) is heading to Minnesota this weekend on an official visit according to head coach Keith DeMyer.
The 5-foot-11, 176-pound senior was committed to Cincinnati for a short while but decommitted during an unofficial visit before the season began.
Carter is also being looked at by Marshall, Iowa State, Ball State and Western Kentucky according to DeMyer.
"A lot of programs sort of fell off when Eric committed to Cincinnati," DeMyer said. "Minnesota is one that has really turned up their interest in him recently. I know Eric likes them, he likes the idea of going to a building program in a major conference. He could get a chance to play early."
DeMyer said he wouldn't be surprised if Carter took an official to Iowa State next month with teammate Tyler Brown, who committed to the Cyclones over the summer.
